May 1978: Alan Merkel establishes AIM Incorporated.
June 1978: AIM inc. d/b/a Sunroofs Int. opens a retail store catering to the automotive industry.
1984: Expands operations to include mobile installations of car telephones and adds the installation of big screens in commercial establishments as well as home theaters in residential homes.
1984: Moves to Sandy Springs, GA, and opens Home Theatre Systems. HTS offers consumers a complete home theater experience with front projectors, surround sound, Satellite TV and Laserdisc players.
1989: HTS installs one of the first Lucasfilm THX Sound Systems in the Atlanta area for one of the founders of Home Depot. HTS becomes a Founding Member of www.CEDIA.org.
1992: HTS closes the retail store to concentrate on selling and installing systems by referral only.
1994: HTS is trained by Joel Silver, the founder of ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) to use sophisticated instruments to calibrate TV's in order to produce the best picture possible.
1995: HTS begins installing the new smaller DBS (Direct Broadcast Satellite) satellite dishes.
1999: HTS installs one of the first rear projection HDTVs in the Buckhead area of Atlanta.
2000: HTS starts programming touchscreen universal remote controls and continues designing and installing state of the art Audio and Video installations in homes around Atlanta.
2009: Dexter is hired as the company driver.
2011: Changes name back to AIM Inc. and begins programming iPads to control all types of electronic components as well as lighting, shades, cameras, security and HVAC systems.
From 2014 on, AIM Inc. continues to install the latest electronics and WiFi devices in residential homes.
